Roland Emeraldo is a dethroned emperor of the Empire of Dastan. He sought for equality and fairness among all species of Dastan, at any cost. He gained the support of Teuthisal and Pongcanis rebels who fought with Emeraldo's troops and the rogue Lion Knights in the Battle of Drakencourt. Prior to the rebellion, Roland Emeraldo was popular among his people, especially minority species. However, political difficulties and Emperors Alandri and Septrine prevented him from achieving the equality that he hoped to spread across the Empire, so he resorted to more drastic measures. After the rebellion was defused in the Battle of Drakencourt, Emeraldo was apprehended by the heroes of Heroica on their mission in Dastan. His punishment for his crimes was a removal of the crown and banishment from Dastan.
He now goes by the alias of the "Emerald Emperor" in Vega, the City of Sin in the Babeleth Darklands. There, he rose the city from the swamps to create a haven of gambling, harlotry and bootlegging. Emeraldo is currently alive and ruling the city. He has also been known to run tournaments for the popular Decamon card game.
